![]() ![]() ![]() Kera is an ex-Marine that started managing a coffee shop once she left the service. The writing reminds me of Laurenston's Pride series so if you like that you'll probably like this. I liked Kera and Vig very much and the story was pretty good. Unless this type of thing may be trigger for you, you might want to give it a try.ģ.5-4 stars This was a pretty good story. I am in favor of all kinds of books, even those I do not choose to read. That is in part the author's doing, but to me, some narrators can make men just seem manly. The male characters sound like men - maybe not with depth of voice but with tone and, for lack of a better word, attitude. ![]() (I really need this in a book.) The narrator is, as always, splendid. She does a terrific job of keeping her characters true to themselves as established, rather than having them act randomly to drive the story. Other than this tendency for many of the characters to disregard others' suffering (see the above comment about scenes the reader can 'see'), I think this series is better-written than some of her others. And yes, a couple of the characters have their humanity intact. I'm not making judgments, other than for myself. ![]() The characters are sociopathic in their ability to switch from ripping someone to pieces with as much pain as possible and then chatting about their daily lives and how much they like dogs. While I generally enjoy Shelly Laurenston books - she is more than capable with characterization and using her words and grammar and creating scenes you can 'see' - this series is just too violent for me. ![]()

This is practically a miracle as far as Jo is concerned. Twoboy, however, is dreadlocked, devastatingly handsome, heterosexual and apparently single. Jo is reluctant to get embroiled in what promises to be a messy fight. Twoboy and his brother are down from Brisbane to initiate a land claim which stirs up a hornet’s nest of conflicting interests in the area. Jo’s life is already complicated by her artistic and moody teenage daughter and becomes more so with the arrival in town of an outsider, Twoboy. She sees this as her own way of reclaiming Bundjalung country and the process of returning her land to health is deeply satisfying. The protagonist, Jo Breen, is an Aboriginal woman who uses her divorce settlement and the money she earns mowing grass at the Mullumbimby cemetery to buy a block of farmland. Mullumbimy is Melissa Lucashenko’s fifth novel and is, as the name suggests, set in northern New South Wales. ![]() 5/21/2023 0 Comments Dan brown the lost symbol series![]() ![]() But they may get more from 5USA than adverts on Pick.īack to Lost Symbol I presume as suggested they wanted it to be ongoing so kept it open but then dropped as not getting the audience on Peacock. Plus they now have all the FBI spinoff shows which they may want to show at some point.īut also weird in that some NBC shows which are on Sky for first run are sold onto to 5USA for free TV here when you would think Comcast would want to keep in the family. But they may want to try and catch-up to the Sky broadcasts as they are a few years forward. ![]() Presumably the producers wanted to make it into a continuing series but the audience didn't agree?ĭon't understand Pick's scheduling choices.įor example they are currently running through new to Pick FBI episodes at two per week rather than more usual for US TV of one per week. I'd assumed it would be an extended adaptation of the book, so can't see why it should end on a cliff hanger. Oh well, there are obviously not enough good series to fill the hours that Pick is on air. ![]() 5/21/2023 0 Comments The Druid Stone by Simon Majors![]() ![]() found a bed of black pearls with hoomanamana priests in Hawaii leaped around a stone circle in a ritual with a coven of witches in England attended a black mass in a French monastery ![]() watched a man afflicted with the evil eye bring disaster to an Italian village listened to the talking head of a dead brujo in Ecuador danced the Gran’ Zombie on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain Brian is a great world adventurer with the following list of (rattled off, and completely unconvincing) accomplishments: They recruit Brian Creoghan, a man Ugony met briefly in Hong Kong some years before, to assist them in their experiments.
